The Couple Next Door is back for a sizzling second series on Channel 4, set once again in that eerily perfect cul‑de‑sac. Season two turns the spotlight onto high‑flying heart surgeon Charlotte Roberts (played by Annabel Scholey) and her consultant-anaesthetist husband Jacob (Sam Palladio), whose picture‑perfect lives unravel when a mysterious new neighbour, named Mia (Aggy K Adams), moves in next door .
Most of the drama takes place on the idyllic street, where the characters of season one (played by Alfred Enoch, Eleanor Tomlinson, Sam Heughan and Jessica De Gouw) also lived.
In the first episode, Charlotte questions why Mia moved to Leeds where the show takes place, but fans have been quick to point out that the neighbourhood looks more like an American suburb, with a vibe straight out of Desperate Housewives.

Where is The Couple Next Door set?
While the show is set in Leeds, West Yorkshire, much of the series was filmed in parts of Belgium and Holland.
"Filming in Belgium and Holland, pretending to be Leeds, is odd because Belgium doesn't look much like Leeds," Hugh Dennis, who plays Alan, said.
"However, it's great to experience a different country and way of life."
The street where Charlotte, Jacob, Alan and Mia live, Appleby Drive, was actually filmed in the Netherlands.
Aggy K Adams said: "We were still figuring things out when we suddenly had to film outside in the snow for two weeks in the Netherlands, with temperatures around -2°C."
She continued: "The snow wasn’t expected, so the art department had to deal with defrosting everything.
"They used lamps to melt the snow but it was too cold. Some snow had to be removed in post-production.
"We weren’t ready for snow in early November!"
Some scenes were also shot in the Belgium city of Antwerp, as Dries Vos, who directs the series, is from Belgian.
The Couple Next Door season 2 is currently airing on Channel 4.
