Netflix has just added the third season of Canadian suspense drama Departure to its UK platform and we can't get enough of the gripping thriller.

Starring Christopher Plummer, Archie Panjabi and Kris Holden Ried, the third season sees Kendra Malley (Panjabi) and her team from the Federal Transportation Safety Authority travel to Newfoundland to investigate the cause of a major ferry sinking.

The third season was actually released in the UK in October 2022, with Netflix adding the first and second season to the platform earlier this year.

Season 3 was added earlier this month, and the series is now in the UK's Most Watched Shows.

Thinking of giving it a watch? (We think you should).

Read on for everything you need to know about the series, including the incredible cast list.

What is Departure about?

Created by Vince Shiao, the series follows the Federal Transportation Safety Authority as they investigate high-stakes transport disasters.

Each season focuses on a different catastrophic event. Season one revolved around the disappearance of a British passenger flight, season two looked at a train derailment in Ontario which saw many passengers killed, and season three, which is the latest season to drop on Netflix, centres around a ferry incident.

Over the six episodes, Malley and her team explore whether the ferry sinking was simply the result of human error or if there's something more sinister at play...
