Married At First Sight Australia continued on E4 last night, with some of the brides and grooms heading out on dates with their almost matches.
Surprisingly, Awhina Rutene who is in a marriage with Adrian Araouzou, decided to meet her backup husband Tim, 35, from Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
While she was apprehensive to begin with, Awhina felt that her current husband would definitely do the same (she was right) so made the decision to go on the date.
Following the date, fans of the show took to X (formerly Twitter) and everyone had the exact same thing to say...
"Why wasn’t Awhina paired with Tim in the first place??" one wrote.
"I think Awhina should drop Adrian for Tim. #MAFSAU" another said.
"Why did they not match Awhina with Tim?!?! #MAFSAU" a third added.
We went back and watched their date over again, and here's all the reasons why we think Awhina should have been matched with Tim instead of Adrian that we noticed from just that one date.
He ASKED about her son
Perhaps the biggest reason why we think the experts should have matched Awhina with Tim instead of Adrian is the fact that he asked about her son. Of course we only see 6o minutes out of a 24 hour day, but we can't remember there ever being a time when Adrian and Awhina have spoken freely about her son.
On their wedding day, it became clear that Awhina being a mum was an issue for Adrian and during their honeymoon, he expressed his worries that he wouldn't be able to love her child as much as his own blood child.
When the couple previously met their family and friends for lunch, Adrian claimed that he'd tried to talk to Awhina about her child, but she had said she wasn't ready to open up.
However, during her date with Tim, this didn't seem to be an issue, with Tim asking multiple questions about Awhina's child, including his interests and hobbies.
Awhina told him that her son likes to play football, to which Tim responded: "I wish I could still play footy, but my body just does not allow for that!"
Prior to his date, Tim expressed his hopes to start a family, saying: "I really do what to find someone that I want to marry and that I can build a family with." Aww.
Tim was willing to relocate for love
During the homestays, Adrian didn't seem keen about moving from Sydney to be with Awhina, who lives in Perth with her son.
While at lunch, Awhina's twin Cleo asked him about relocating and he instantly fired back: "Is she willing to move to Sydney?"
He later said that "what's supposed to be will always be" implying that it's something he could work on.
Tim, however, seemed very up for the move. The social worker, who lives in Queensland's Sunshine Coast of Australia which is about a 4 hour flight from Perth, told Awhina: "If I met someone who was the right fit and I could see myself potentially building a connection with, would I move? Yes, I'd definitely be open to that. Maybe it's soon to be Perth."
Speaking to the cameras afterwards, Awhina gushed: "That's more than what I've got from Adrian this whole experience."
She added that she felt reassured and validated by Tim.
Compatibility
The compatibility between Awhina and Tim was so clear to see from the moment they sat down, with one fan writing: "Why didn't they match Awhina with Tim in the first place??! They're much more compatible! #MAFSAUS #MAFSAustralia #MAFSAU"
As well as asking about motherhood, Tim also took an interest in Awhina's life, asking her multiple questions to get to know her.
"Tim asked me more about my life in one date than I've gotten from Adrian in six weeks," she said aftewards.
Following the date, Awhina admitted that things would have been so much "easier" with Tim if she had the opportunity to do things over again.
Physical attraction
As well as there being an emotional connection, the physical attraction was also there with Awhina commenting on Tim's looks.
"If I was single and he was to ask me on a date, would I say yes, I probably would."
Sounds like the whole package if you ask us!
Married At First Sight Australia airs on E4 on Monday to Thursday.
