After a very tumultuous time on the last season of Married at First Sight UK, Caspar Todd has taken to Instagram to share details of his surprise engagement.
ICYMI, Caspar and Emma Barnes were matched and married in the 2024 season of the hit dating show but things didn't end well.
The pair struggled with their connection throughout the series, and Caspar was absent from the reunion episode as well as being hit with rumours that he was dating fellow cast member, Polly Sellman.
It came as a shock then when, over the Easter weekend, Caspar announced he proposed to his current girlfriend and is now engaged.
"I've known for a long time that you are my person," the former MAFS UK star wrote in the caption of his Instagram post, which shows him getting down on one knee and popping the question."
"Thank you for being you, finding me, and saying yes eventually," he went on. "Can't believe I've got a fiancee!!!!"
In the comments section, plenty of Caspar's MAFS UK cast mates congratulated him on the engagement.
"Congratulations 🙌🏿 there is hope for me and Adam," wrote Orson Nurse, referencing Polly's former partner, Adam Nightingale, who himself commented: "Wicked man! Happy for you."
"Congrats guys 💞," said Sionainn Carmichael, while Hannah Norburn added: "Ahhhh congratulations!!!"
Previously speaking to Cosmopolitan UK about where she and Caspar stand since leaving the show, Emma said that the pair aren't speaking but she hopes they can one day be friends.
"I would love to be friends and have no animosity, and just look back fondly at our experience," she said. "So I'm here for him when he's ready."
Shortly afterwards, in a Q&A with viewers on Instagram, Caspar also confirmed he's not on speaking terms with his former wife.
"Am I still in touch with Emma?" he said. "Honestly, no, not really. Just different people living different lives. And as long as she's happy and looks happy on her Insta and stuff then I'm really happy for her. But yeah, we're just very different people."
