Last night's episode of Married at First Sight Australia (25 March) introduced us to the newest couple in the experiment Beth and Teejay. However, their wedding was slightly overshadowed by the dramatic events of another couple at the reception, yep we're of course talking about Ryan and Jacqui's intense conversation. And now Beth and Teejay have spoken out about how they really feel about the other couple's actions, saying it wasn't the "time or place" for the conversation to have happened.
To quickly update you, episode 14 kicked off with Jacqui revealing to Ryan she's written a list of all the things she's unhappy with in their relationship which includes: the photo ranking task, Ryan not paying for breakfast and Ryan taking three weeks to buy her flowers.
In one of the other apartments Jeff reveals to wife Rhi, Jacqui has messaged him separately to ask to meet up, leading the pair of them to be very confused.
They, along with Ryan and Jacqui, Billy and Sierah, and Jamie and Dave all attend Beth and Teejay's wedding. During the sweet ceremony, Jacqui gets upset by the vows as she doesn't think Ryan's vows to her were as good as Teejay's.
This leads to an argument between the pair, with Ryan telling the rest of the group about Jacqui's list.
The pair continue to argue and then Rhi brings up Jacqui's text to Jeff, which everyone, including Ryan, was very shocked to hear about. Jacqui then explained she reached out to Jeff get a male perspective on her marriage, but then Ryan brings up Jacqui saying Jeff was the "most suitable match" for her. This led to Jacqui storming out of the reception.
So how did Beth and Teejay, whose wedding it actually was, feel about this event overshadowing their day?
Well the couple spoke to Today Extra, and Beth revealed she didn't feel the moment was appropriate for the wedding.
"If I was attending someone else's wedding I would've kept my own drama under wraps," she said. "But Jacqui just couldn't help herself, I guess she does what she does best and makes it about her. I don't think it was the right time or place but I had a beautiful day regardless."
However, the couple did add it didn't take away from their special day. Teejay did say having the other couples there did add to the level of "intimidation" around the event, however he was mainly focused on being "excited to see Beth at the end of the aisle."
Ok, we're really keeping our fingers crossed for these two.
