Guys, we have very, very important news to share. Dame Jacqueline Wilson is releasing her second book for adults, Picture Imperfect, and it's a sequel to The Illustrated Mum. Yes, we know, we're screaming too.
Following the release of her first book for adults last year Think Again, which caught us up with the characters from the Girls in Love series, earlier today Jacqueline announced she'd be bringing out a new novel for adults which is due for release in August later this year.
Picture Imperfect will reunite us with a now 30-year-old Dolphin. Dol is living in a studio flat in Brighton and working in a tattoo parlour by day, while picking her mum up from the police station at night.
The new story will see Dol try and get out of the life rut she finds herself in and there's plenty of romantic prospects on the scene. Will she find peace and happiness with gardener Lee and his daughter Ava? Or could she be content with a steamy romance with actor Joel?
And of course we'll be catching up with Dol's sister Star too. She's now a doctor, living in Scotland with her family, and offers Dol a chance at a new life with her. What on earth will Dol chose?
The Illustrated Mum was published in 1999 and is Wilson's second highest selling novel, behind The Story of Tracy Beaker. It follows the story of young girls Dolphin and Star who are learning to cope with their mother Marigold's bipolar disorder.
The new novel will be published on 28 August later this year which gives us plenty of time to reread The Illustrated Mum.
Ok can summer hurry up now?
