Katie, 37, and Tim, 38, said "I do" in episode 2 of Married At First Sight Australia.

Prior to their wedding day, Katie began to cry while trying on her wedding dress feeling as though she had to “trap a stranger” into marriage.

She said: "It wasn’t supposed to happen this way, right? You’re meant to fall in love and then do it, but nobody will fall in love with me. I feel like a fraud."

Nevertheless, she felt hopeful about finding a match and was pleased with her new groom when they met at the altar.

Sadly, the same couldn't be said for Tim who told producers that his bride was "not what I wanted."

Speaking to the cameras, he said: "I just haven’t got that initial spark," before pulling the producer aside to air his concerns.

"What the f***. It’s just totally not what I wanted. I normally go for short, petite, blonde or brunette. Katie’s nothing what I normally go for… I’m a bit embarrassed that I’ve come here now. I don’t want to be here," he continued.

He added: "I feel like I wasted my time."

Unfortunately not.

Following their wedding day, the pair decided to sleep in separate rooms, with Katie confessing to the cameras: "He said, 'There's no spark, I wasn't feeling a spark all day'."

She continued: "To be rejected, that's my worst nightmare. I don't know what I've done wrong or why this keeps happening, I feel really humiliated."

Despite this, the pair headed on their honeymoon. But it only got more awkward as Tim revealed that his preference in a woman is usually a petite, short woman with blonde or brunette hair.

Following their honeymoon, the pair moved into separate apartments and arrived at the first dinner party separately. And during the dinner party, Tim turned the whole situation on Katie, saying: "All I would say is, I feel like I've been the one making most of the effort."

To make matters worse, Tim then stormed out of the dinner party after being questioned by the other brides and grooms.

The couple called it quits the next day at the first commitment ceremony.

"I came here for love, not to do work," Tim said. "When you feel that someone's not there for you, that's not a partner I want."
