It's been over 24 hours since the Married at First Sight UK reunion dropped on E4 and we're still reeling from the bombshells around the dinner table. With Hannah and Holly's surprise heart to heart, to Shona and Matt's 'semi-engagement', it's safe to say we were gripped thoroughout. However, one person we were surprised not to see was bride Polly Sellman, who was a prominent figure throughout the series. And now Polly has just revealed why she chose to skip the reunion.
In case you forgot, Polly was married to groom Adam Nightingale, and they didn't have the smoothest of journeys. In fact they ended the series with Adam storming away from their final vow renewal ceremony. So with this in mind, we were very curious to see what the reunion party would hold for Polly and Adam. But when Monday's episode rolled around Polly was nowhere to be seen - but why?
On Monday night, Polly shared a picture of the whole cast together and reflected on her time in the experiment. The comments were full of questions about the reunion, with one follower asking Polly why she wasn't there.
Polly then replied to the follower saying she felt it wasn't for her and was choosing to spend time with friends instead of attending filming for the reunion.
"Decided it wasn't for me my love," she replied. "I was away with my friends and chose to stay there instead of go to that, which was a sh*t show 😂❤️."
While Adam didn't attend with his ex-wife, he did spend a lot of time at the reunion with fellow bride Amy Kenyon. The pair have built a friendship following their time on the show, and despite fan suspicion have insisted they are just friends.
During the reunion, in the honesty box segment of the show, Adam read out a question: "Amy, why do you think people are so keen to see us become a couple?" To which Amy responded that they "we bring out the best in each other. We bounce off each other, and we have an amazing friendship." As for whether they're dating? They both insisted again they're just mates.
While on Married at First Sight UK series nine Adam and Polly had one of the most tumultuous relationships. Though Polly was very happy with her new husband, Adam didn't feel a physical spark between them. And their lack of intimacy and physical connection continued to be an issue between the pair as the experiment continued.
They got into many arguments throughout the series, and though there seemed to be moments where things were going well, they ultimately weren't meant to.
