While most Love Island couples who break up insist things are "amicable" in their joint statements, the same cannot be said for Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. After winning the show, the pair were together for a year, before going their separate ways - and now, he's been throwing shade at her appearance on Love Island All Stars. Is this really necessary...?
Cast your minds back to 2022, and you'll remember Davide and Ekin, both now 30, were named the king and queen of the Love Island villa. They were together for a year, before announcing their split in June 2023, with Davide sharing a statement on Instagram.
"Ekin-Su and I are no longer together," he wrote on Stories. "I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best. I would like for everybody to respect this decision during this difficult time. I will continue to support Ekin in any way possible."
By the following October, though, the pair were back together, before breaking up for the final time in January 2024. Ekin shared the news this time, explaining that "The last 18-months have been a rollercoaster of ups and downs" and that "I have recently made the decision to end our relationship and to go our separate ways."
Fast forward a year, and Ekin-Su kicked this January off as the first - and arguably most iconic - bombshell in the Love Island All Stars villa. Arriving on night one, she's already caused a stir, and is now coupled up with Curtis Pritchard, having shared a kiss on the terrace. We love to see it.
One person who has been a little bit shady about the whole thing, though, is Davide, who replied to a fan comment about Ekin being on the show. The original message read: "Bro stay strong when she's on TV kissing loads of wee boys."
Davide replied: "I really hope she does. At least she will leave me alone and stop talking about me once and for all."
