The Traitors is a game built on sharing theories, and now fans of the show have a major theory of their own; that two of the cast members are secretly related. And no, we're not talking about sisters Armani and Maia.
Now usually in the game, if there's a secret connection between contestants, such as season one's Alex and Tom, who were in a relationship, and Diane and Ross from season two, who were actually mother and son, the audience knows about it from the beginning, while the contestants remain in the dark.
And in this year's series we already have two contestants who know each other, sisters Armani, 27, and Maia, 25. However, unlike in previous seasons, these two didn't keep their connection quiet and told the audience and their fellow cast members from the first scene that they were family.
But what if there is another connection we're not yet aware of? As we're now firmly two weeks into the series, fans have gotten to know the players pretty well and some are theorising there may be a secret family link between two players - Lisa and Alex.
Yes, as in the secret (well not so secret after last night's episode) 62-year-old anglican priest Lisa from Cornwall and 29-year-old care manager Alex from Whitby.
In a Reddit post earlier this week one user posed the question and asked if there could be a familial relationship between the pair. They posted pictures of both contestants with the caption: "These two have to be related, surely? Who else do you think could have a pre existing relationship??"
Some believed they could be related due to their similar facial structure and others added they were the only two cast members to have kept their social medias private, which perhaps suggests they have a connection to keep hidden.
One person wrote: "Yes I was thinking of grandmother and grandson, they look very alike and act how a grandson and grandmother would act." While another user added: "I did think they looked very similar in terms of facial structure. Not sure if it’ll end up being the case but it would be a good twist." And another added: "Wow, there is a real likeness there for sure that I hadn’t noticed. Good shout."
Many fans agreed there could be a secret relationship between two contestants still to be announced this season, but weren't sure if it was Alex and Lisa.
Another secret relationship? We're not sure we could handle the stress of it.
