Harlan Coben has penned 33 viral mystery and thriller novels, but his latest project has to be our favourite to date. The American author's 2014 book, Missing You, debuted its Netflix adaptation on New Year's Day and has had us glued to our sofas ever since. We've seen everything from twists, turns and... celebrity cameos?

Yep, that's right – among the cast of actors including Rosalind Eleazar, Jessica Plummer and Richard Armitage, we've seen social media star GK Barry and Busted singer Matt Willis pop up on our screens. However, the most surprising cameo of all has to be Harlan's very own sneaky appearance, which appears to have gone largely unnoticed. That is, until now.

During the opening titles, as a flurry of missing posters appear on screen, you can spot a headshot of Harlan to the left of the sequence. Missing You's screenwriter, Victoria Asare Archer can also be spotted blurred in the centre.

It has also been reported that a number of other individuals pictured are employees of Quay Street Productions, the company behind several of Harlan's Netflix adaptations. Don't you just love a subtle easter egg?!

Over recent years, the novelist has seen several of his stories brought to Netflix with The Stranger, Stay Close and Fool Me Once among the biggest hits to his name.

Filming for Missing You started in spring 2024 in Manchester and follows detective Kat Donovan (played by Rosalind Eleazar from Slow Horses), whose fiancé, Josh, disappeared over a decade ago without a trace. Her whole world is turned upside down when she's scrolling through a dating app, and he appears, forcing her to unpack the mysteries – including her father's murder.

Missing You is now streaming on Netflix.
