The Traitors is one of the most addictive shows on television. The drama. The tension. The... very strange cutaway clips of the contestants doing random things that maybe shouldn't be filmed?

The BBC reality show is in its third series, and follows a group of contestants at a castle in the Scottish highlands. The premise is simple: in amongst the 22 contestants, three are 'Traitors', while the others are all 'Faithful'. Each night, the Traitors murder one of the Faithful, while each day, the Faithful must try and catch one of the Traitors. Oh, and there's a £120,000 prize fund at stake.

Season three kicked off on New Year's Day (1st January), and we're already obsessed. But viewers have been wondering why, when the Traitors are talking about who to 'murder', the clips of the Faithful are so strange.

Last night's episode [3rd January] in particular has sparked a reaction, after 20-year-old politics student Freddie was filmed topless having a shower. In previous nights, Yin was seen reading a book in a mermaid blanket, while other series have included contestants doing lunges in their bedroom, and in the bath. Um, what's the need?

"Uncle Keith doing Karate and Freddie just in the shower. These night time postcards are just wild," one person wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), while someone else added, "Wtf is it with these showers/bath scenes? Charlotte last year and Freddie in the shower now. Weird af."

Someone else put, "Traitors is a good show…but why show man in the shower?!? What’s the point of that?" and "Loool the b-roll clips of everyone in their room doing the most random stuff is so hilarious."

Genuinely, what is this about!? BBC, we need answers.

The Traitors continues on BBC One and iPlayer at 9pm.
