During her time in the I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! camp, former Love Islander Maura Higgins confessed that she was dating a certain someone - with the internet going into overdrive that it was Pete Wicks.
During a conversation with Oti Mabuse, Reverend Richard Coles and Dean McCullough about love lives, Oti asked Maura if she was single. She replied: "I am but I was seeing someone before I came in but I'm not in a relationship."
The Reverend then asked her, "Was it exclusive? Or if I've put you on the spot, sorry!" To which Maura said: "I dunno."
And then Dean asked if she didn't want to delve into the topic more because the mystery man was someone they might know, to which Maura said "yes". She also revealed she was missing him slightly since she had been in the jungle.
Before she arrived in the jungle, it was heavily rumoured Maura was dating Pete Wicks, who is currently competing on Strictly Come Dancing. The pair have known each other for years and were spotted together at a number of events prior to her journey to Australia.
While she was in the jungle, Pete has showed support for Maura on social media. On 1st December, he shared a picture on his Instagram Story urging his followers to support Maura and vote to save her from elimination. He wrote: "I've been George of the Jungle, but now it's time to vote for Maura of the Jungle!"
And on Maura's Instagram, which is being managed by her family while she's away, they shared a clip of Pete and his dance partner Jowita Przystał in the quarter finals, wishing him luck. They wrote: "waltzing into the quarter final like... knock em dead tony!! Best of luck tonight @p_wicks01 we are all supporting you."
Maura then told Cosmo she was "100% excited to see him" after she left the jungle, adding on This Morning, "Honestly, he's been so supportive. I didn't know if he was still in Strictly, I'm so proud of him and he's proud of me and I can't wait to see him."
Then, on 11th December 2024, Maura revealed she was back in the UK by sharing a group photo alongside some friends, with none other than Pete Wicks in the background! We're so happy to see these two reunited, and could this just be the start?!
