In case you hadn't noticed, history's best rom-com just dropped—otherwise known as Andrew Garfield's Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg. The chemistry was so palpable you cannot convince me these two aren't currently in love, but since nothing's technically (maybe? Possibly? Actually?) happened yet we're left with no choice but to bide our time by deep-diving Andrew's dating history. Which, despite his best efforts to keep private, is pretty public.
On that note, let's go back to 2009, a simpler time when everyone was busy listening to 'Boom Boom Pow' by the Black Eyed Peas and you still knew the log in to your MySpace account.
Shannon Woodward: 2009 to 2011
Andrew and fellow actor Shannon Woodward dated towards the beginning of his career (his Social Network era, if you will), but parted ways once he starred in The Amazing Spider-Man...and met Emma Stone.
A source told Us Weekly at the time (via Just Jared) that they split once Andrew "got deeper into filming" since "he literally never saw her." Mmmkay!
Emma Stone: 2010 (ish) to 2015
Andrew and Emma met on set of The Amazing Spider-Man, and, like all Spider-Man costars, immediately fell in love. TBD on when they made things official, but they were going strong all the way until 2015 when they decided to go on a "break."
A source told People at the time that it was "one of those situations where only Andrew and Emma quite know if they'll pick up where they left off or they've separated." They ended up reuniting a few months later, but by October were officially over.
For what it's worth, these two are still great friends and mutual fans. Back in 2017, Andrew even told Vanity Fair "There's so much love between us and so much respect. I'm her biggest fan as an artist. So, for me it's been bliss to be able to watch her success and watch her bloom into the actress she is."
More recently, Andrew attended the premiere of Poor Things and Emma was thrilled to spot him in the audience. Point is, they're close!
Susie Abromeit: circa September 2018
Andrew and Jessica Jones star Susie Abromeit allegedly dated, and by that I mean Us Weekly claimed they were "spotted locking lips beachside in Malibu." The dream.
Rita Ora: circa December 2018
Rita Ora and Andrew were spotted several times in winter of 2018, but apparently it didn't last because they'd broken up by the following March. A source told The Mirror that “the relationship just fizzled out” and “it’s sad but they have both accepted the situation and moved on.”
Aisling Bea: March 2019
A fan snapped a pic of Andrew with his arm around actor/comedian Aisling Bea during a performance of Hamilton, but the relationship was never confirmed so...moving on!
Alyssa Miller: November 2021 to April 2022
Andrew and model Alyssa Miller made a public appearance together AND went Insta official, but it didn't last. The Sun (who broke news of their split) said “busy schedules” were a factor, and “on top of that, it became clear that there were some differences between them, and it was decided they are better off apart, for now at least.”
Phoebe Dynevor: November 2022

Okay, so these two ALLEGEDLY got together after attending GQ Man of the Year Awards in London. According to The Sun, the pair were seen getting “cozy” at the after-party and left together.
“Andrew and Phoebe clicked straight away, there was an immediate attraction,” a source said. “They know each other through various acquaintances in the business and have plenty in common. But this is certainly no one-off encounter. After leaving together, they’ve since met up and are acting like a proper couple.”

Kate Thomas: March 2024 to... early Autumn?
Andrew and professional witch Dr. Kate Thomas started dating in March 2024 and everyone was captivated for reasons that should be obvious (again, she's a professional witch). Alas, Kate confirmed in the comments of an October Instagram post that she and Andrew split "months ago."
She'd previously opened up to The Sunday Times about the "misogynistic nature" of the tabloid interest in their relationship, saying “It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished or impactful a woman is, it’s always going to be more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man. I don’t want to sit under anybody’s shadow.”
