While Zendaya is one of our favourite people to see on the red carpet, the actor was noticeably absent from last night's Emmy awards. But why?
Well, despite the likes of Selena Gomez, Nicola Coughlan and more donning their best fits and attending the ceremony, Zendaya was unlikely to ever attend the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards at Los Angeles’s Peacock Theatre because she wasn't nominated this year.
The last time she attended the awards was in 2022, thanks to her starring role in Euphoria season 2. At the time, she took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Rue. To date, Zendaya has two Emmys and five nominations.
She made history in 2020 as when she became the youngest person to win an Emmy at 24 years old. At the time, she won her award virtually due to the coronavirus lockdown, and said in her acceptance speech:
"My greatest wish for Euphoria was that it could help heal people, and I just want to say thank you to everyone who has shared their story with me. I want you to know that anyone who has loved a Rue or feels like they are a Rue, I want you to know that I am so grateful for your stories, and I carry them with me, and I carry them with her."
We miss you on the red carpet, Z!
