The Traitors is officially back on our screens for series three, and we are already obsessed. The first episode landed on New Year's Day, and reintroduced us to Claudia Winkleman's famous fringe, alongside a whole new host of contestants - and some very sneaky twists. ICYMI, The Traitors is back and better than ever, with 22 (er, it was initially 25!) new faces heading to a castle in the Scottish highlands, in an attempt to win £120,000. The premise of the show is actually pretty simple, yet ridiculously addictive.

Of the 22 contestants, three of them have been labelled 'The Traitors', while the other 19 are 'The Faithful.' Each episode The Traitors "murder" (not literally) one of The Faithfuls and The Faithfuls must try and work out who among them is actually a Traitor. The Faithfuls are hoping to make it to the end of the game without being killed, or voted out, and The Traitors are hoping to make it to end without being detected, and walk away with the entire prize fund.

When did The Traitors series 3 premiere?

After more than a year away, The Traitors returned to BBC One at 8pm on 1st January 2024 for the first episode. After this, the second episode was also made available on BBC iPlayer, while all future episodes will air at 9pm.

When do episodes of The Traitors arrive on BBC iPlayer?

Like season two, there are 12 episodes in total for The Traitors season three, and each week three episodes will be released on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

What's happened on The Traitors season 3 so far?

We're about half way through The Traitors season 3, and it's been a dramatic series to say the least. While the Faithful were at a loose end during the first two episodes of the series, they successfully banished Armani during a round table, after her sister Maia expressed her doubts.

Then, the remaining Traitors - Linda and Minah - tried to recruit Anna to join them, but she refused, feeling as if the heat was already on her, and saying she wanted to be banished as a Faithful.

Meanwhile, the three contestants who had got off the train during episode one also made a valiant return during one of the missions, and were caged above their fellow contestants. The Faithful and Traitors were given the opportunity to save two of them - bringing Fozia and Alexander back to the castle.
