Calling all period drama fans, your new TV obsession of here: The Buccaneers, aka a delightful show that's like an unintentional cross between Bridgerton and The Gilded Age, which premiered on Apple TV+.
You can live vicariously through these New York socialites trying to navigate London society and root for romance to prevail despite their differences. With so many characters and ever-changing storylines, we just know we're going to be wanting more at the end of the season. So here's what we know about The Buccaneers season two.

When was The Buccaneers confirmed for season 2?
On 19th December 2023, Apple TV+ confirmed another series would be coming. Creator Katherine Jakeways announced the news: "It’s been a complete thrill to watch people all over the world fall in love with these characters, who’ve been brought to such vibrant life by our spectacular cast.
"We know season one left audiences desperate to know what’s next for our buccaneers, so I’m absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to explore the further adventures of this smart, joyful, messy sisterhood."
Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+, added: "The irreverence and wit of ‘The Buccaneers’ charmed global audiences and we’re excited to be working with Katherine Jakeways and The Forge again on the next adventure for Nan and her friends."
What will The Buccaneers season 2 be about?
Edith Wharton's novel The Buccaneers, which the series is based on, is famously unfinished, which presents an exciting challenge for the television series and its second season. They aren't beholden to a canon ending, because one does not really exist.
There was an ending based on Wharton's outline and written by Marion Mainwaring added to the novel in 1993. The writers who adapted the book as a mini-series in 1995 (which starred Carla Gugino and Mia Sorvino, among others) gave it a different ending entirely.
Since Nan and her love triangle are the main focus of season one, I would assume that the outcome of whatever choice she makes would be the focus of season two. Just one girl's educated guess!
When would The Buccaneers season 2 come out?
Now that both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are over, it's a little bit easier to speculate about when shows may return. In theory, the show could return around the same time next year, considering it was quickly renewed, so we could theorise about November 2025.
