Remember that period of time when all the internet could talk about was Netflix's Squid Game? Well you're about to be transported right back there, only this time, the obsession will be with Squid Game: The Challenge, the gameshow spin-off from the original series. But how much is the prize money that the contestants are competing for?
Back in 2021, Korean drama Squid Game quite literally took over social media, telling the story of hundreds of contestants who were competing in children's games to be in with the chance of winning millions of dollars - only to discover the consequences of losing were deadly.
While the 10-part reality TV series is (thankfully) not quite so lethal, it does follow a very similar format to the original drama, with many of the same games and challenges. But what do the contestants get if they win?
What is the Squid Game: The Challenge prize money?
The gameshow will follow 456 real players, who have entered the competition show in pursuit of a life-changing reward. That reward? A casual $4.56 million (around £3.9million), aka $10k for every contestant in there.
Much like in the TV show, viewers can assume that every time a contestant fails to pass a challenge, $10k will be added to the prize fund. Depending on how many contestants pass every round of the games, the prize fund will be shared between them.
"As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show - plus surprising new additions - their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them," the show's description states.
We can't wait.
Squid Game: The Challenge lands on Netflix on 22nd November 2023.
