After five years, Big Brother is finally back on our screens for a brand new series full of drama, challenges and housemate dilemmas. The series has had a revamp, with a new house and will now air on ITV2 and ITVX, with presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best taking on the presenting roles.
Series 20 sees 16 new housemates enter the Big Brother house to live with a group of strangers 24/7 for six weeks, while competing in a series of challenges and games, in the hope of being awarded the legendary title of Big Brother series 20 winner. Oh, and of course the big cash prize fund too.
But what actually is this year's prize? Here's what you need to know.
What is the Big Brother 2023 prize?
Apart from winning automatic icon status, the winner of ITV's Big Brother 2023 will walk away with a jackpot of £100,000, as confirmed in the first episode of the series by new hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best.
In previous years the series jackpot has varied with season one winner Craig Phillips walking away with £70,000. The prize pot remained the same for the next four seasons until season five when Nadia Almada won £63,500. In series six the prize fund was lowered to £50,000.
From seasons seven to 10 the prize was at its highest of £100,000 before going down to £71,320 in season 10. Since series 11 the prize fund has stood at £100,000. However, over certain series housemates can lose or add money to prize fund during certain challenges.
In series 16, also known as Big Brother: Timebomb, a twist was put on the series, which involved a number of challenges to do with time, and in the penultimate week a "Cash Bomb" challenge occurred which put the £150,000 prize fund at risk.
By the end of the series, Chloe Wilburn won the series and walked away with the show's biggest ever prize fund of £116,100, some of which she claimed she would be donating to charity.
We can't wait to see what this new series winner will do that will earn them the coveted position of Big Brother series 20 winner and walk away with £100,000.
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
