The wait is finally over, Big Brother officially returned to our screens last night (8th October) after five years away, and what an iconic return. From the 16 exciting new housemates, to AJ Odudu and Will Best smashing presenting duties, to the boujie new Big Brother house, it feels so good to have Big Brother back on our TVs.
Aside from meeting the new housemates, the thing we were most excited for the reveal of was of course the Big Brother house, which is such an integral part of the show it might as well be the 17th housemate. But where is the Big Brother house actually located? And what does it look like inside? Here's what you need to know.
Where is the Big Brother house?
Prior to this new series, the Big Brother house was located at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire where series three to 19 were filmed. However, after the series stopped airing in 2018 on Channel 5, the house was destroyed, meaning a new location was required for 2023.
The new Big Brother house has been reported to be located at Garden Studios in West London. Garden Studios is a relatively new studio, having only been established in 2020.
A custom set was created for the new Big Brother house, which includes a brand new house, garden area and a stage area too where hosts Will and AJ will welcome the housemates into the house and where they will greet them after they've been evicted.
What does the Big Brother house look like inside?
The new Big Brother house has all the classic features you can expect from a Big Brother house: a large communal bedroom featuring 12 beds, a kitchen dining area and living room, a large communal bathroom, a garden, and of course the diary room.
The new bedroom features a number of single beds and three double beds, with a glam area in the centre of the room. In the open plan kitchen/living area there's a long table complete with 16 chairs and the kitchen is decked out in Big Brother branded items with Big Brother mugs and tea towels dotted about the kitchen.
In the living area there's two large blue sofas with a large Big Brother eye table in the centre. For the first time ever the new Big Brother house features an upstairs level, having previously always being a bungalow house. The new mezzanine level is ideal for keeping an eye on fellow housemates down below.
The bathroom has two showers and a large bath situated on a plinth, as well as cushion adorned seating area too.
Outside in the garden area, the infamous jacuzzi has return along with a variety of seating options. Unlike in previous years, the garden now features a dedicated smoking area which only one housemate can go in at a time and is not fitted with a camera, but does include a microphone.
The diary room, in which housemates can talk to Big Brother in, is of course back and features a large rainbow chair in the shape of the signature Big Brother eye.
Bring on six weeks of this colourful chaotic house!
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
