Married At First Sight UK is officially returning to our screens for another season of weddings, dinner parties, commitment ceremonies and more and we can't wait.

The dating series, which sees expertly matched couples meet for the first time on their wedding day, will begin on 21st September, and we'll get to see the first two couples of this year's series head down the aisle in episode one.

But with those lavish wedding ceremonies, we can't help but wonder, who exactly pays for them? Is it the brides and grooms themselves or the production company? Here's what we know.

Who pays for the Married At First Sight UK weddings?

Every year the MAFS UK weddings are pretty lavish, with beautiful venues, floral arrangements and more. So who foots the bill? Well they are pretty much all paid and arranged for by production, with brides and grooms having some input.

In 2023, Cosmopolitan UK spoke to then groom Luke who revealed they did get to chose certain elements of their wedding celebrations.

"We could actually choose the stuff we wanted in our wedding," 2023 groom Luke said at the time . "Me and my wife, Jay, we would have [been] sent the same questionnaire and then, they would have matched anything we both chose and put that in the wedding."

"The flower arrangements and the colour schemes are what I picked," he added.

Clark, who appeared in season two of the show, also previously told Cosmopolitan UK that there was a small budget for their wedding days on the show.

"There’s budget for things, her wedding dress, a small budget for the suits," he said. "There are six options of lots of different things – type of food, music, style and theme of wedding."
