After more than a year away we were beyond excited for the return of Yellowjackets on Paramount+ for season two last year and following that climactic and action-packed finale episode, we are now desperate for the return of the show for season three.
The good news is we now don't have long to wait as the new season is confirmed to be heading to our screens early next year. Want to know more about season three? Here's all the details we have.
Is there a release date for Yellowjackets season 3?
There sure is, on 19th November 2024, Paramount+ confirmed the first two episodes of Yellowjackets season three will debut on 14th February 2025. Well, we know how we'll be spending our Valentine's Day.
The streamer also released a small teaser advert for the third season and in it we see clips of one girl being strangled, another pushing someone up against a tree and Shauna with a knife in her hand. Ugh, it's good to have our girls back.

What is Yellowjackets about?
In case you're not caught up on Yellowjackets (um, hello, where have you been?) then it's a part thriller, part horror and part mystery series.
It's set in a dual timeline and in the 1996 timeline a girls' soccer team's plane crashes whilst they're flying over Canada. They are left stranded and must survive in the wilderness for the next 19 months.
25 years later, they have to struggle with supernatural events and come to terms with their past.
When was Yellowjackets season 3 been confirmed?
Ahead of the release of season two in March last year, season three of Yellowjackets was confirmed in December 2022.
Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime and Paramount Media Networks, said the team was super excited to get another season locked in ahead of the release of season three.
He said: "With ‘Yellowjackets’ runaway success in season one and the pent-up anticipation for season two, we wanted to maximise the momentum by fast tracking season three now.
"The show’s ambition is only exceeded by its execution, and I thank the incredible creative team behind it, including Ashley, Bart, Jonathan, eOne and the Showtime team, for turning this into such a success.” So exciting!
Who will star in Yellowjackets season 3?
Yellowjackets has a truly phenomenal cast with Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, Lauren Ambrose and Simone Kessell taking on the roles of the women in the current time period.
However, following on from the events of season two, in which Natalie was accidentally killed by Misty, we now know Juliette Lewis won't be returning to play the role of Natalie in season three.
Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sammi Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Liv Hewson and Courtney Eaton play the roles of the girls in the 1996 timeline and are all set to return for the third season.
We also know Warren Kole is set to return as Jeff, Sarah Desjardins as Callie, Kevin Alves as Travis and Elijah Wood as Walter Tattersall. Given how his character Coach Ben likely set the girls' camp on fire at the end of season two, we're glad to hear Steven Krueger is returning too.
Excitingly joining the cast in yet undisclosed roles are Hilary Swank and Joel McHale. Could this cast get any cooler?
