When we look back on Love Island season 8, one of the main things we'll remember is the colossal amount of behind-the-scenes gossip, provided by former Islanders. Thanks in part to the ever-increasing popularity of TikTok, ex-contestants have been revealing plenty of juicy details about what it's *actually* like in the Love Island villa.

And there's one thing in particular that we've always wondered about... What do the contestants use their phones for? Other than to brandish in the air while yelling "I've got a text!" of course.

Luckily, season 7 contestant Chloe Burrows is on hand to spill the tea. After teasing fans about why she's in Mallorca, Chloe was asked what Islanders are allowed to do on their phones in the villa. She responded, "You can take pictures and you can message the other islanders… that’s pretty much it x."

OK, so no secret chats with their mums at home then?

Some fans were slightly baffled that the Islanders can actually message each other. One person tweeted, "wait can you have private convos?," while another asked the crucial question, "do u have games?" We need answers, now.

It's not the first time an ex-Islander has dished the dirt (err, literally) on what goes on inside the villa. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, season 7 contestant Millie Court revealed that the villa goes into lockdown for up to three hours a day to be cleaned, meaning Islanders have to use a “portaloo, cabin thing outside the back of the villa,” if they need to use the toilet.

Millie described it as "the worst experience ever,” adding that due to the hot temperature, “it literally stinks.”

Suddenly, the villa seems 100% less glamorous. Do we still want a tour? Absolutely.
