Ever since Netflix's new true crime documentary The Tinder Swindler was released last month, the internet has been going wild. From finding out Shimon Hayut aka Simon Leviev may or may not be on TikTok, to discovering he's been banned from dating apps and is out of prison, it's also left people wondering about the fate of the three women who so bravely shared their experiences for the docu-film, Cecilie Fjellhøy, Pernilla Sjöholm and Ayleen Koeleman. Here's what they're up to now.
Cecilie Fjellhøy
The first victim, Norweigan born Cecilie Fjellhøy, currently resides in London. After admitting she was absolutely smitten when she first met Leviev on Tinder, she soon found herself whisked off her feet as he treated her to five-star getaways and private jet experiences.
But it wasn't until she'd maxed out credit cards and found herself taking out personal loans to protect Leviev that she found out what his true intentions were. According to Cecilie, after finding out the truth, she checked herself into a psychiatric hospital to protect her mental wellbeing.
After the documentary aired, she's since shared it on her personal Instagram, but unfortunately, she's still in a lot of debt. Along with some of Leviev's other victims, she's set up a GoFundMe page to help try and recover some of the money she lost.
Pernilla Sjöholm
Pernilla Sjöholm was another of Leviev's victims. A Swedish native, she resides in Stockholm where it looks like she runs her own business. During the documentary, Sjöholm claimed that she never loved Leviev, or was romantically involved with him. Instead, she insisted the two were just close friends who travelled together on various occasions. However, she still suffered the loss of around £33,000 ($45,000), as she later found out he had been using her money to fund the luxury clubs and restaurants he was taking her to. All while he 'refused' to let her pay for anything.
After scamming her out of her money, it came to light that he also threatened her if she were to go to the police about his crimes.
She has since also joined forces with some of the other victims to try and reclaim her money. She's also made good friends with Cecilie in the process.
Ayleen Koeleman
During her relationship with Leviav fashion executive Koeleman suspected something wasn't quite right and ended up trying to get her own back, after she caught him in the act in Greece. And ICYMI, she also went on to sell all of his designer clothes.
Are we sensing a Baudi Moovan and Ayleen Koeleman crime stopper partnership? (Don't F**k With Cats fans, we're looking at you.)
Koeleman isn't as active online as Cecilie or Pernilla, but we do know she's also named on the GoFundMe page, so hopefully she manages to recoup some of her losses, too.
If you haven't seen it, you can stream The Tinder Swindler on Netflix.
