Love Island’s Amy says bosses ‘forced her to eat’ during the stress of Curtis heartbreak

Amy Hart has opened up about her decision to leave the Love Island villa following her split from Curtis Pritchard.

The Islander made the choice to quit the ITV2 show after it became apparent that the professional dancer was in the process of cracking on with Maura just days after their own romance came to an end.

In an interview with The Sun, the 26-year-old said the exact moment she decided to leave the show was when Curtis asked Tommy Fury how it felt for Molly Mae to say she loved him.

"I was thinking Curtis knows how it feels because I said I loved him," she remembered. "I thought, 'I can’t do this to myself anymore',” she said. “So I went to producers and told them, 'I’ve decided I’ve had enough'."

“I knew I had to leave when I did. I’m kidding myself thinking that I can watch Curtis cracking on with Maura. It would be self-sabotage. It’s not nice. I have to put myself and my sanity first."

Explaining that she was in absolute “despair” over her first heartbreak, Amy said that bosses soon noticed she was losing weight rapidly and had seemingly lose her appetite altogether.

“I felt so numb. I didn’t feel hungry,” she continued. ‘When I wouldn’t eat, they [producers] would stand over me and make me eat a bowl of food or I couldn’t do the challenges.”

Since leaving the villa, Amy shared that she’s now feeling a “million times better,” proving that her decision to follow her heart and put her mental health first was definitely the right move.
