Love Island fans are still reeling after Tom and Maura’s romantic night in the hideaway quickly unravelled into one of the most epic fails we’ve ever seen in television history.
Viewers were left with their heads in their hands after Tom shot himself in the foot by telling the lads he wanted to see if Maura was “all mouth” following some of her previous suggestive comments about sex.
ICYMI, boxer Tommy had only just handed a condom over to the Islander when it quickly became clear he wouldn't be needing it. Maura, who overhead the remark, asked him to repeat his comment before storming back into the house for good.
It’s fair to say nobody saw this plot-twist coming, with viewers taking to social-media to react to the most cringeworthy moment of the 2019 series so far.
One person called the scene a “prime example of how women are objectified for liking sex,” before adding that “just cause a woman is open about their sex life doesn’t mean she’s open to sleeping with anyone!”
Another added that Tom has hopefully a learned a lesson from this embarrassing ordeal: “Good on Maura for showing that sexually open women aren't 'slags' and that consent matters in all scenarios!”
It looks tonight’s episode is going to be equally as dramatic, with the fallout from Tom’s comment fully hitting the fan as the rest of the villa get to grips with what went down.
