Who is Ruth Codd?
29-year-old entertainer Ruth has been rising into the public eye since the 2020 pandemic, when she began posting on TikTok. Prior to that point, she was working as a barber and makeup artist, but during lockdown was able to pivot into influencing after racking up 672,000 followers and 20.5 million likes in a single year.
Through her visibility on TikTok, she was discovered by the team at Netflix, who cast her to appear as Anya in The Midnight Club. She was then cast as Juno Usher in The Fall of the House of Usher. Most recently, it was announced she would appear in the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon.
Alongside her work in the acting world, Ruth is a passionate advocate for disability awareness.

What happened to Ruth Codd's leg?
Ruth has spoken about her experiences with disability, and has used her social platforms to raise awareness.
Ruth opened up about her experience in depth to the Irish Examiner in 2022: "My injury is the greatest challenge I’ve faced in my life so far.
"I injured it playing soccer at the age of 15. It never healed correctly so until I was 23, I was on and off crutches, getting loads of operations. Because of nerve damage and chronic pain, I chose to get it amputated. It took eight years of my life, constantly going in and out of hospital.
"My whole life revolved around trying to heal my leg. For years, I didn’t see it getting any better. I was stuck in a really bad mindset and I was pissed off at life. When I made the decision to amputate it, things finally started to turn around. It was a relief. I could get on my life."
