Love Island is all about singletons, summer and – of course – sex. But, it seems this year's Islanders are having to deal with something entirely unsexy: a stomach bug.

According to a Love Island insider who spoke to The Sun, a "nasty stomach bug" has been making its way around the villa, affecting both contestants and crew. "Love Island might look very sexy on the television but behind the scenes there has been a bug going around," the source claimed.

"It has been pretty rough for some of them. Some of the production team have also been affected by the sickness bug," the insider added. "It has torn its way through the set and the aftermath has been less than appealing."

Although the source didn't give away too much about the Islanders' illness, stomach bugs are pretty common and usually nothing to worry about – although, you should speak to your GP if you are concerned or if symptoms persist. "Diarrhoea and vomiting are common in adults, children and babies. They're often caused by a stomach bug and should stop in a few days," the NHS website explains.

Treatment for a stomach bug typically includes: staying at home and getting plenty of rest as well as drinking lots of fluids. As for how long symptoms last, the NHS notes that diarrhoea usually stops within five to seven days whilst vomiting usually stops in one or two days.

Here's hoping that all the Islanders (and crew) feel better soon!
