Love Island star Joanna Chimonides has shared a series of candid Instagram Stories detailing how she found a 'painful' lump in her boob over the weekend, as well as a subsequent doctor's trip to have it checked over.
Speaking about her discovery, Joanna told her 727,000 followers on social media, "It's been a bit of a stressful morning, well... a kind of stressful morning. On Saturday I found a lump on my boob, it hurts quite a bit and obviously it was bank holiday so I wasn't able to get a doctor's appointment."
She added that the stress of not being able to see someone to discuss the lump had been 'driving her insane' too, as well as the long wait times to see a GP. "I've been driving myself insane for the last couple of days, worrying what it is and stuff," Joanna explained. "But this morning I was on the phone to the doctor early, all the emergency appointments were taken, so I actually couldn't see anyone... They said a doctor was going to call me back, now I'm just waiting."
Joanna then shared that she was waiting for her appointment to go in and have the lump examined, saying, "Hopefully it's nothing, nothing serious but of course I had to make sure I get it checked as soon as possible, because you just never ever know. I'm a bit nervous... but yeah, always check your boobs."
The reality star also pointed out that the lump she has discovered was causing her pain, making it more obvious to notice, however not all breast lumps (or lumps anywhere else on the body) come with additional symptoms. It's also worth pointing out that the majority of lumps are likely harmless, but as Joanna said, it's always best to be checked over by a doctor.
Joanna later shared a further update to Instagram, saying that she'd been examined by a doctor who then referred her for an urgent scan, meaning hopefully she'll have a clearer idea of what the lump is soon.

"Guys, girls, get checked because you've just got to be super, super, super careful," Joanna added. "Don't wait out to see if it goes, or doesn't go, just get checked."
