Celebrity baby names have, and will always be, a hot topic. From the unusual and certainly unique names (like Wulfric and Gravity), to classic monikers that stand the test of time (á la the Royal Family), there really is no guessing what the latest celebrity babe will be called once they make their arrival.
Yet despite the hype surrounding them, sometimes celebrity baby names just don't quite stick. In fact, there's been more and more A-Listers announcing their decision to switch up their child's name as of late. Take Kylie Jenner, for example, who broke the internet last year when she revealed her son Wolf is no longer known as Wolf.
And it's not just celebrities who head back to the Big Book of Baby Names well after their child has entered the world. Us 'normies' are doing it too! In fact, one woman in the US opened up about her decision to change her son's name after six months because she felt "awkward".
"We weren’t in love with the name but thought it would become his name," she said. "I thought it would fit when he was born but after a couple of months, I was struggling with it." The mum-of-two went on: "I want to let people know changing a name is an option if you don’t like it after they are born."

In March 2022, Kylie announced her son Wolf (born just one month earlier) would no longer be known as Wolf. "FYI our sons [sic] name isn’t Wolf anymore," she wrote on her Instagram Story. "We just really didn’t feel like it was him. Just wanted to share because I keep seeing Wolf everywhere."
And, after keeping fans waiting almost a year, Kylie finally announced the name of her son alongside the first photos of his face in January 2023.

In 2019, Amy and her husband Chris welcomed their first child, Gene. But, it wasn't until nearly a year later that the pair backtracked on their son's moniker – or, more specifically, his middle moniker.
"So do you guys know that Gene, our baby's name, is officially changed?" the actor said on her podcast. "It’s now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer, but we realised that we, by accident, named our son 'genital.' Gene Attell sounds like genital."

Perhaps (read: definitely) at the top of the list when it comes to weird and wacky celebrity baby names are billionaire Elon and his on-again-off-again partner Grimes. After welcoming their first son together in 2020, the pair revealed his name was: X Æ A-12. Yep, it's quite something. And California state law seemed to agree, forcing the couple to remove the non-English characters and numbers from the name.

When their third child was born in 2014, Kourtney revealed during a TV interview that she and Lord Disick just couldn't settle on a name for their son. As such, they spent the first week of his life calling him whatever name popped into their head in the hope that eventually one would stick.
"I would try out a different name on different days," The Kardashians star said. "One day his name was Preston for one whole day," she added, before pointing out that Reign came out the winner.

After welcoming their baby girl last year, Stacey admitted to calling her 'Princess Pickle' for the first few weeks. But why? As it turns out, Stacey had hoped to name her daughter, Autumn Solomon-Swash, after the month she was born. Although, she later realised the initials would spell out a rather unfortunate word. As such the pair settled on a new moniker for her: Rose Opal Esmè Solomon-Swash.

16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom OG legends Catelynn and Tyler pulled a switcheroo on their daughter's name back in 2019. "Every time someone would say Tezlee, we would cringe!" Catelynn said of the initial name they picked during an episode of Teen Mom OG.
"It just wasn’t sitting with us like it did at first," she added. "Tyler told me about the name Vaeda and I fell in love with it! It’s from the movie My Girl, which is a movie that Tyler showed me years ago."

Grey's Anatomy star Caterina welcomed her third daughter, Arwen, back in December 2019. But, just a few months later she announced baby Arwen would now be known by her middle name, Lucinda – or Lucky, for short.
