There's no denying that everyone is ~obsessed~ with HBO's Euphoria right now. Unsurprisingly then, more and more of us overhauling our aesthetics in an attempt to look more like our fave characters – yep, we're bedazzling just about anything with rhinestones. But, one thing we didn't expect to see being Euphoria-fied is baby names. How wrong we were.

In fact, according to a study carried out by Bella Baby using data from UK Baby Names, Euphoria-inspired baby names are on the rise in the UK. That means, you can expect to see plenty of Cassies, Rues and Nates running around the park in years to come.

"Now that the second season of Euphoria has returned to our screens, we predicted that a number of trends would emerge – one of those trends being baby names," said Bella Baby's Caoimhe McGonagle. "It’s interesting to see that a number of the characters names have influenced baby names here in the UK."

So, what actually are the Euphoria-inspired baby names that are on the rise? And, what's the meaning behind them?

Euphoria-inspired baby names

Rue

Being the star of the show, it's no wonder that Zendaya's Rue has been rising up the ranks when it comes to baby names – moving up 81 places to be precise, making its overall UK ranking 1773 out of 5493.

As for the meaning behind the name, Rue is a name of English origin, meaning 'regret'. Although, we're pretty sure you'll have no regrets if you name your new arrival Rue.

Everyone's clicking on...

Cassie

Cassie's character, played by White Lotus' Sydney Sweeney, has been a big-hit with Euphoria fans this season. It makes sense then, that the name has risen 46 places in the last year.

Short for Cassandra, of Greek origin, the name Cassie has a number of meanings, including purity and prophetess (an individual thought to be in direct contact with the 'divine being').

Lexi

Although Lexi's only risen six places in the last year, the name's current ranking is 126 out of 5493 – proving it's pretty popular on the baby name front.

Lexi, derived from the Greek name Alexandra (not Amazon's Alexa), means 'defender of man'... we wonder how that'll impact Lexi's storyline with Fezco on Euphoria?

Maddy

You can't mention Euphoria without mentioning Maddy, who's simultaneously both fabulous and fearsome. Although the name hasn't risen in popularity as much as others on this list – only going up two places in the last year – that's not to say there isn't scope for it to boom in popularity in future.

Often short for Madeleine or Madison, the name Maddy essentially derives from 'Woman Of Magdala' meaning a young, unmarried woman. It's giving strong, independent woman vibes, if you ask us.

Jules

If your fave Euphoria character is Jules and you fancy a name that's pretty unique, then you're in luck. In fact, last year only 19 babies in the UK were named Jules, meaning you can bet your little one will feel pretty special to share the name.

Aside from being incredibly unique, the name has Latin origins and derives from the word 'Youthful'. Pretty fitting for a newborn then!

Nate

If, like us, you're not the biggest fan of Euphoria's Nate (played by Jacob Elordi) you might be surprised to learn the name hasn't suffered the same fate as his character. In fact, the name rose 18 places last year, currently ranking at 314 out of 4608.

So what does Nate actually mean? The name derives from the Hebrew word 'natan', meaning 'to give' or 'to gift'.

Elliot

Elliot might be a newbie to Euphora High, but the name certainly isn't new on the list of popular baby names in the UK – ranking at 83 out of 4608 and rising two places in recent years.

The name has quite the biblical origin, and is derived from the Hebrew name Elijah, meaning 'Jehovah is God'.

Happy baby naming...
