9 best at-home eyebrow tint kits for fuller-looking brows – tried and tested
Sparse, non-existent brows? We gotchu!

If you haven’t been introduced to the best eyebrow tinting kits yet, get ready for me to change your life. Picture this: You’re about to do your makeup, which usually requires eyebrow pencils, brow gels, and positive thoughts. But instead of putting in all that effort, your eyebrows are already done before you even start. Have I got your attention?
Welcome to the magic of eyebrow tinting, where a few minutes with an at-home tinting kit and some detailed instructions will give you semi-permanently dyed brows that can last anywhere from one day to three weeks.
How to apply an at-home eyebrow tint
If you’re used to getting your eyebrows professionally done in a salon, you’ll be pleased to know that achieving a natural-looking tint at home is surprisingly simple. While most kits come with step-by-step instructions, I spoke to Baebrow founder Victoria Singh to get her expert tips on how to apply your tint for a natural finish – without ending up with overly heavy brows.
“Choose a shade that matches your hair or slightly darker,” advices Victoria, noting that this is key to keeping the result soft and believable rather than overly bold. “Then, apply the tint within your natural brow shape. A small angled brush or spoolie will help control placement.”
When it comes to avoiding that blocky finish, she recommends going slow and steady to begin with. “If it's your first time or if you're worried about going too dark, check the colour early – wipe a small section after a few minutes to see how the tint is developing.”
Victoria also emphasises the need to keep things precise, especially if you want a natural result. “Remove any excess product from the skin quickly. This keeps the tint focused on the brow hairs instead of staining the surrounding skin. Focusing on tinting brows rather than skin makes the results more natural,” she explains.
Are at-home eyebrow tints safe to use?
While it might seem like a low-maintenance beauty treatment, it involves the eye area – so safety matters. In the EU, regulations restrict the use of certain ingredients in hair dyes, including eyebrow tints.
As of June 3, 2022, substances such as 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene, 4-amino-3-hydroxytoluene and 2-[(4-amino-2-nitrophenyl)-amino]-benzoic acid are no longer permitted in cosmetic products. The UK now operates under its own cosmetics regulations post-Brexit, but these rules closely mirror EU standards. This means products sold in the UK are subject to very similar safety restrictions.
Each kit we’ve chosen is as safe a formula as you can find when it comes to DIY’ing your brows at home. Though, it’s important to do a patch test before you apply the formula over your brows.
