When it comes to eyebrow makeup I'm the first to admit that I'm an absolute snob. If it's not one of my beloved £20+ pencils from Anastasia Beverly Hills/Benefit/Glossier, I'm just not interested... until now.
While my favourite eyebrow pencils ticked all my boxes when it came to precision and colour, they didn't tick the all important affordability box.
Last year I got through six of these boujee pencils (yes, I counted) and if you do the maths that is a £138 investment. If you include my Glossier Boy Brow addiction on top of that (four tubes a year at £14 each), my yearly spend on the hairs above my eyes is £194.
Just to reiterate for dramatic effect, that is one hundred and ninety four ENGLISH POUNDS on eyebrow products.
No wonder I live in rented accommodation.
In an effort to rectify this, I set about finding a cheaper alternative and not only did I complete my mission, I bloody well smashed it.
At £4, Revolution's Pro Microblading Precision Eyebrow Pencil is £19 cheaper than my go-to product. Granted the packaging isn't as fancy, just your very basic black, but it does come with a spoolie on one hand and really what more could I ask for?
It's available in an impressive eight colours (I wear Soft Brown) and honestly, it's an absolute revelation.
Granted, the colour match isn't quite as good as my high end favourites, but would you rather spend £24 a year on eyebrow pencils, or £138?
Let me know if you need longer to mull that over...
Before
After
It's not hard, or scratchy like other drugstore pencils I've tried and the precision tip means I can fill in those tiny patches where my hair just refuses to grow.
While I refuse to give up my Boy Brow (don't even try it), this is a pain-free switch that I will continue to make.
