Finding the best foundation is never easy, but if you're anything like me, when it comes to buying a new base the first thing I do is trawl google for reviews. I want to know what real people think about a formula, is it drying? Does it last? What's the coverage like? You can always rely on the internet to spill the tea.
A recent quest for some new makeup lead me to SpaceNK, and it was there that I got lost in the foundations' review section. The website's search function allows you to order the products by rating and popularity, that way you can see real consumer feedback when it comes to making a purchase.

The four top foundations consisted of NARS Sheer Glow, Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick, Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation and Laura Mercier Silk Creme Moisturising Photo Edition Foundation.
Nars Sheer Glow, £33 = 4.3 stars
According to the brand this is a "buildable foundation that provides sheer to medium coverage and lasts all day long." Apparently it's "ideal for normal to dry skin" and "works to illuminate skin while providing hydration and a soft, smooth finish."
Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick, £42 = 4.3 stars
According to the brand, the stick formula "provides the covering power of a concealer and liquid foundation, while remaining weightless like a powder. Thanks to the unrivalled pigmentation of this foundation, the coverage is immaculate and long-lasting."
Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation, £63 = 4.5 stars
The Chantecaille foundation claims that "the light texture of the complexion-loving foundation does not limit its ability to provide complete coverage." Apparently, it's "oil-free and rich in botanicals such as aloe, chamomile, rosemary and green tea" which "soothes irritations, boosts immunity and prevents water evaporation."
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Moisturising Foundation, £35 = 4.4 stars
"This sophisticated formulation incorporates rosehip and macadamia nut oils to help seal moisture within the skin for long-lasting hydration." Say the brand. "Its fluid texture helps to conceal lines and reduce the appearance of pores."
