If you've clocked a certain prim, polished haircut swishing through the capital lately, you're not imagining it. From Gracie Abrams on the BAFTAs red carpet to Lily Collins perched front row at Harris Reed's Autumn/Winter 2026 runway (and, indeed, our own Senior Fashion Editor Rebecca Hill darting between London Fashion Week shows), London has its very own hair trend, and it's one we're dubbing the Belgravia bob. Move over, Big Ben, there's a new icon in town...
Characterised by its jaw-skimming length, glassy polish and often a discreetly tucked finish, the Belgravia bob is quintessentially British: quaint, weather-resistant and faintly stoic. It will not frizz in a light drizzle and pairs as effortlessly with a trench coat as it does with black tie. Understated, yes, but never boring.
What makes it truly appealing, however, is its versatility. Worn centre-parted and razor-blunt, it feels precise and patrician; nudged into a soft side part, it takes on a glam, 90s insouciance. Add a subtle bend through the mid-lengths, however, and you're met with a more relaxed rather than severe cut, while a high-gloss, tucked-behind-the-ears finish leans into its polished, Upper East (or rather, Upper Belgravia) energy.
It is, in all its shortened glory, a haircut with range.
When requesting it in the salon, ask for a blunt, jaw-length cut with minimal layering and clean lines. Remember: The goal is polish without preciousness. And when you're asked for picture references, present the below Belgravia bobs we've spotted over the past few days.
Though keep your eyes peeled because we're expecting many, many more to crop up in due course!
