Circa September 2023, Pamela Anderson shocked the nation after vowing a makeup hiatus, but what came next was even more groundbreaking: A redefining shift into hair. From one beauty hallmark to another, who'd have thought it, ey?
As such, over the last few years, we've seen the actor rock everything from retro poodle curls to a cloud shag and even a 1950s bouffant bob, but her most recent style comes courtesy of the 70s era. Enter: The featherlight bob that adds fullness to fine and thinning hair.
Earlier this week, Pam attended the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards 2026 in Los Angeles, California and debuted the featherlight bob in question. And as shown below in the red carpet pap snaps (try saying that three times as fast), it's a cut defined by soft, brushed out volume and middle parted fringe (think Jane Birkin adjacent softness).
What makes the cut so great for finer hair types, however, is its light and airy internal layering. The soft layers create a rounded silhouette which gives movement without sacrificing fullness, while the wispy, piecey fringe frames the face for density up front. The result? Blow-dried bounce that's polished yet never stiff.
That said, there is one caveat. If you do have fine hair and want to recreate this look for instant fullness, it's key that the layering is kept soft and minimal; Too many layers will make the ends look see-through and sparse.
Style-wise, Pam's hairstylist has created a curved-under finish (a very clever blow-drying technique that requires a round brush and patience). This contributes to the overall illusion of thicker ends and a fuller perimeter.
Everyone's clicking on...
Et voilà! Another bob, banked!
As the hair technicalities prove, the world of bobs is ever-expanding – and this might just be my favourite yet (at least until tomorrow, when seven more inevitably emerge).
