Amal Clooney has not only single-handedly made the 'bubble blowout' a thing (new hairstyle unlocked), but an entire beauty trend to watch this season – you heard it here first, folks. Sleek at the roots with soft, rounded volume at the ends, it's the kind of cut that feels polished and chic, sans the stiffness of an overstyled shape. OTT gel, wax and hairspray? We don't know her.

The star's new hairstyle in question was first debuted on social media earlier this week, with her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, sharing a seven-part carousel post on Instagram. Following this, Dimitris shared with Vogue that he "cut off between six and eight inches of hair," adding that "Amal has never had a haircut like this before." The result? A shape that frames the face beautifully while maintaining movement and bounce – aka, the hallmark of the so-called 'bubble' effect.

Here's a look at Amal's hair before:

And here's her shorter bubble blowout now:

To add dimension to the overall look, Dimitris deepened her brunette base and wove in "toasted almond" highlights around her face, creating a subtle glow that complements the cut. "It’s a power cut," he said. Effortless yet commanding, it's a style that ties any look together, no matter the event.

The bubble blowout is also surprisingly versatile. Its rounded ends create natural volume, while the long face-framing pieces soften the overall shape. It's a re-upped version of the classic blow-dry, if you will.

Want to recreate this look yourself at home? Well, first, make like Amal with a cut that sits at the décolletage and is finished with blunt ends and a few very long face-framing pieces, and then style with a heated round brush to create that bounce while keeping the root sleek.

My favourite tool to do so? The BaByliss Air Power Volume Hot Air Styler! It's easy to use and gives maximum impact. Trust me on this one...
