It's been over two years since the 'jellyfish' haircut swam onto the beauty scene (soz) and today, Miley Cyrus is proving its supremacy on one of the biggest stages in the world. Natch.
Overnight, the 'Flowers' singer attended the 67th Annual Grammy Awards and as excited as we are about her third (!!) win, what ~arguably~ stole the show was her fresh jellyfish haircut.
Worn pin-straight and with a fringe, Miley's 'do perfectly demonstrates the blunt, layered features of the jellyfish cut; she's got a short and blunt top-layer bob with longer hair underneath – aka, the best of both worlds... wink, nudge.
So, if you can't decide between chopping your hair to chin length or keeping longer layers, this is the style for you.
Now, as I'm sure many of us already know, Pinterest has a pretty stellar track record for using its data to predict trends and that has been proven with a statement Tom Spratt, Head of Beauty at Pinterest UK, made just over a year ago in January 2024.
"Millions of people turn to Pinterest each month to find inspiration and shop their next beauty and hair looks, so we know what they’re planning to do and buy next - it’s a bit like having a crystal ball," Tom said. "In 2024, it’s all about the jellyfish. So, if you're looking for an edgy, out-of-the-box style that's sure to grab people's attention, this hairstyle might just be for you."
Everyone's clicking on...
Gwen Stefani, Selena Gomez and now, Miley Cyrus, have all foreseen a rise in the jellyfish haircut, meaning you best believe it'll only continue to rise in popularity.
Congrats Miles, on both your Grammy win and jaw-droppingly gorgeous hairstyle!
