Noughties babes will remember JoJo for her musical bangers (see: Too Little, Too Late and Leave) as well as her sweeping side bangs. But, a lot has changed for the singer — not to be confused with JoJo Siwa — in the last two decades, and she just stepped out in New York City looking unrecognisable with shaggy layers and a wispy front fringe.

Making her rounds in the city to promote her new single, NGL, JoJo (real name: Joanna Levesque) sported a shaggy bob haircut, styled into tousled curls, with a choppy fringe that frames her face. In terms of hair colour, the child star kept her trademark honey blonde highlights — after all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

As for the rest of the look, the singer — who last year released a memoir, titled Over The Influence — showed she's in-the-know when it comes to trends, wearing a bold red lip and matching glossy red manicure. She completed the look with an oversized, belted burgundy trench coat and a black and red tartan scarf.

Speaking about the transformation she's been through of late — particularly when it comes to her career — the 34-year-old this week said on Instagram: "My journey to self-love has looked a lot of different ways and it's had plenty of starts, stops, twists and turns."

"Not gonna lie, I'm just out here. Finding my way," she continued.

JoJo's all-red look comes just days after Bella Hadid debuted burgundy highlights and Jennifer Lopez showed off a 'cherry chocolate' manicure — proving that red is very much continuing to be the colour of the moment.
