Let’s face it, bob haircuts will always be on-trend. But each year, a different take on the chin-skimming haircut seems to reign supreme. Last year, it was the blunt bob – just look at how Kourtney Kardashian rocked it throughout autumn and winter. Can you imagine how many trims it took to maintain that length over the months?

This year, we thought the choppy, multi-layered bob was set to take centre-stage – and while we have no doubt it’ll still be hugely popular, it seems like blunt bobs aren’t going anywhere. Looks like the two will be some of the most requested haircuts at salons this autumn.

Lili Reinhart is the latest celeb to back team blunt bob (also known as the 'sliced' bob), sporting the trendy hairstyle at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. For the special occasion, the Riverdale star’s hair was styled straight and sleek, emphasising the blunt chop on the ends of her lengths.

She also sported a middle-parting with the front of her hair tucked neatly behind her ears while walking the black carpet. It’s fair to say that this hairstyle is giving us all the autumnal feels. Especially when you factor in Lili’s gorgeous deeper ‘bronde’ (that’s a combo of brown and blonde, FYI) hair colour. Screenshotting that for my next hair appointment.

Suddenly, all I want to do is take my duvet to the sofa, stick on Gilmore Girls and dust off my Hotel Chocolat velvetiser…
