Even though it was a big, big trend for summer ’22, it seems like flat waves aren’t going anywhere. Yep, during these warmer months we’ve seen Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon and Katy Perry all sporting the look. And now, Fergie has joined the crew, too.
The singer made a surprise appearance at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, where she performed alongside Jack Harlow – and it’s fair to say she looked nothing short of G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S. Soz, I couldn’t resist.
For the occasion, Fergie sported flat waves, the mermaid-like approach to wavy hair. While it may sound intimidating, we can reassure you it really isn’t – think messy beach hair but with less volume:

Now, even though summer is coming to an end (sob), it seems like flat waves aren’t going anywhere for the rest of the year. So, if you’re keen to get in on the action, there are two very easy ways to achieve the look. Either braid your hair into a few three-strand plaits while its slightly damp and take it out after a few hours.
