At this point Ashley Benson is legit one of the most entertaining people on Instagram if you're in it for the beauty content.
She's constantly dishing out makeup tips (take, for example, her lazy-girl smoked out eye hack). She speaks her mind, and if you like following celebrities who are unafraid of sharing no makeup moments, she's got your back there too.
...Oh, and let's not forget the hair transformations, which Ashley's no stranger to. Remember her amazing pumpkin spice hair? And her more recent platinum bob?
Anyway, Ashley posted a series of stories to Instagram, along with a grid shot, detailing her day with @anthonyholguin, in which she transformed her hair from bright blonde to fiery copper-red. She captioned the picture "Always wanted to be a redhead" and her fans (including Demi Lovato themself) went mad for the look. Demi's choice of feedback was "OH okayyyy" with a bunch of flame emojis, so we're guessing the look went down well.
Copper hair and red hues in general have been suuuper popular this year, with everyone from Kylie to Jade Thirlwall to Phoebe Dynevor hopping on the trend, so it was only a matter of time before Ash got a slice of the action.
I, for one, am obsessed.
If you're keen to dabble in the look, check out our copper red inspo gallery here, and maybe even try a gloss / pigmenting mask from the gallery below. But Josh Wood advises to manage your expectations with at-home experimentations, commenting that "the bigger the change the more you need professional help." He adds that while using a gloss or semi-permanent colour is an "easy entry point to bring out the natural red in you", glosses can wash out after six shampoos. In other words, you can experiment in being a redhead for a weekend with no long term commitment - but it might also fade quicker than you intended.
Or, if you're literally running to the hairdressers as we speak to recreate the look (I wouldn't blame you), he recommends masking up between colour appointments, adding: "I always recommend my client to use a mask once a week. If you have made the time and financial investment to colour your hair it deserves to be looked after well."
BRB, booking an appointment as we speak...
