Ahh the mid '00s, a time where it was perfectly acceptable to stay home all weekend watching Evanescence videos on Kerrang! and coding your MySpace profile so that your cursor turned into a heart.

If you thought the days of drowning your eyeballs in black kohl were over, get your sharpener out immediately because Selena Gomez might just have brought them back.

We all know that no reputable emo would be seen dead without a side fringe that rendered them blind in one eye. Even if you skipped the whole emo phase, I can guarantee that your youth was most definitely spent with half your forehead permanently covered, because side fringes are as much a part of puberty as pubic hair is.

For her appearance on The Jimmy Fallon Show, Selena managed to not only bring the side fringe back from the dead, but to resurrect it as a modern day hairstyle we immediately want to recreate.

Forget your side fringe of old - the one that was straightened to within an inch of its life and paired with a head full of ringlets - these bangs are fit for a modern day Jackie Kennedy.

Selena's hairstylist, Marissa Marino, who is responsible for Selena's usual middle parting look, shared a picture of her latest creation on Instagram and it's taking all our might not to reach for the kitchen scissors immediately.

Rather than the side fringes of yesteryear, Selena's new 'do is a much more grown out, face-framing affair.

Everyone's clicking on...

Paired with heavy winged liner (the work of Hung Vanngo of course) and some serious statement earrings, Selena looks ready to take on the Whitehouse rather than a New Found Glory gig.

We'll be booking a hairdressers appointment immediately then.
