• Lily James just got the ultimate short summer haircut: a blunt bob.
  • She shared pictures of her new hair on her Instagram this morning while promoting her new movie Yesterday.

Hi, sorry to completely throw a wrench into your I-love-my-long-hair! vibes, but Lily James just cut off all her hair into a short, blunt bob, and she officially looks like the coolest person you’ve always secretly wanted to be?

The British actress, who is best known for her roles as Lady Rose in Downton Abbey, Cinderella in freakin’ Cinderella, and Donna Sheridan in Mamma Mia!, has had long, wavy hair for basically as long as she’s been on-screen. But this morning, James posted a photo of herself to Instagram with a stick-straight, blunt bob, writing, “Chopped it off … Thank you to my gorgeous glam team!”

The mastermind behind the new short haircut is hairstylist John MacPherson, who not only cut James’s hair, but also dyed it a richer blonde shade with—based on my eagle-eye investigating—some blonder highlights around her crown. “New hair don’t care!!!” wrote hairstylist Ben Skervin, who blew out James’s new hair into the crazy-sleek and shiny style I now officially want to copy.

The whole hair makeover took place in London this morning, where James is currently promoting her new upcoming movie Yesterday, starring Himesh Patel, Kate McKinnon, and…Ed Sheeran? (yup, I’m just as confused as you are).

And I gotta be honest—it’s getting harder and harder to hang on to my long-hair love when literally every celeb is chopping off their hair. From Kim Kardashian’s blunt bob to Camila Mendes’s shaggy lob, my social feed is being inundated with all the summer-hair inspo. Is this the time to officially give into peer pressure?!

Yes. Yes it is.

Brb—calling my hairstylist right TF now, and see y'all on the other side.
