Against all odds, a string of hotel-related murders has not hurt The White Lotus hotels' reputation in the least. Despite the body count fast approaching 10, business seems to be doing better than ever, at least, that's certainly what HBO is suggesting by renewing The White Lotus for a season 4.
HBO picked up Mike White's hit dramedy for an additional season before the show's third season even premiered. But what about the cast? What's the season 4 location? Oooh, what about the plot? Let's dig into all the White Lotus season 4 details. Here's what we know:
Has The White Lotus been renewed for a season 4?
HBO announced that The White Lotus had been renewed for a season 4 in late January, nearly a month before season 3 premiered on February 16. So it was nice to watch season 3 with the comfort that it won't be the last one.
Where will The White Lotus season 4 take place?
It has not been confirmed by HBO, but sources told Deadline that it's going to be France. There are three different Four Seasons locations to choose from in France, but people seem to think it'll be Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, which is on the French Riviera. So it would be similar to the vibe of Sicily.
Mike White has said that he's interested in going to Australia sometime down the line, so that could be another option if it turns out the rumors about France aren't true. Australia would provide plenty of exotic locations and adventurers, from beach towns to perilous wild animals! There are also rumors about either Egypt or Mexico, which could also be interesting.
Wherever season 4 takes us, it will likely follow the formula of the semi-anthology series so far, starting with a body being discovered. For each season, the show has then gone back in time to follow a handful of guests and hotel employees in the days leading up to one of their demise.
Who would be in The White Lotus season 4?
Given that the show has only ever brought back a few characters season to season (RIP Tanya), it's impossible to speculate on what cast members would be asked to return or join season 4. But now is a great time to get those wish lists ready! Personally, I'd love Amy Adams or Lucy Liu to check in for a stay. Someone on Twitter suggested Kim Cattrall, who would absolutely eat up a season of White Lotus. Other names from my personal White Lotus season 4 wish list include: Demi Moore, James Marsden, Dylan O'Brien, and Lily Gladstone.
When would The White Lotus come back for season 4?
Over two years passed between seasons 2 and 3 of the show, which makes me think that fans will have to wait at least until mid 2026 to see season 4—and that's if production is speedy. Granted, the fact that it's already been renewed gives me some hope that fans won't have to wait too long for season 4, but if past is prologue, season 4 of The White Lotus could be held until late 2027.
