SZA is the master of manifesting musical collabs. Earlier this month, the SOS singer-songwriter revealed that Taylor Swift is open to working on a track together, and now, she’s been dubbed Chappell Roan’s “dream” collaborator.
ICYMI, Chappell dished that she’d love to hit the studio with SZA during her interview with Call Her Daddy. “Fuck, that would be good,” host Alex Cooper responded. The “Snooze” hitmaker is all about it, too. She posted a clip of the interaction on her Instagram Stories, writing, “actually didn't believe this quote when I saw it written til I saw it come out her mouth jus now CAUSE DEAD ASS SAME.”
At the end of her message, she added, “pls we must” with a series of sparkle emojis.
And, just so we’re clear, SZA has been in the Pink Pony Club for a minute. Fans pointed out that she constantly comments on “The Giver” singer’s social media posts and uplifts her artistry by posting clips of her performances and interviews, and they seem eager for a potential collab between the pair.
“We want it and we want them to cook up the gayest song it will go #1 for 842992 weeks,” one listener wrote.
The Grammy winner also gushed about the Midwest Princess during her press tour for One of Them Days and claimed that she’s her go-to artist while driving.
“Chappell Roan like stole my brain... she just owns it, she’s just like in there and dancing, she’s like popping out of an apple, she’s doing all kinds of stuff in there,” she said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
