Sure, watching your favorite movie star on the big screen is exciting, but seeing what they’re wearing to all the red carpet functions is pretty fun, too. Certain Hollywood celebs are known not only for their amazing acting talent but also for their incredible style—for example, big names like Zoe Kravitz, Zendaya, and Margot Robbie, never disappoint when it comes time for them to dress to the nines.

From Jennifer Lawrence’s head-turning couture looks she's been rocking lately to Salma Hayek’s picture-perfect gowns that often have unexpected details, here are eight movie stars who always rule the red carpet. There’s no shortage of style inspiration ahead.

1

Jennifer Lawrence

Since rising to superstardom after starring in The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence has been a force on the red carpet. From wearing a fishnet-esque Atelier Versace dress during the Mother! press tour to donning a sheer Dior look to the London premiere of No Hard Feelings, the iconic actress does not miss.

One of her most recent show-stopping outfits was this red Couture Dior gown she put on for the Anatomie D'une Chute (Anatomy Of A Fall) premiere during the 76th Cannes Film Festival held this year. The shawl, the diamond choker, the sleek, parted hair? Come on! And yes, this was the dress she famously wore with a pair of black flip-flops.

Halle Bailey

There’s never a shortage of fabulous red carpet looks when it comes to Halle Bailey. The young actress, who most recently played Ariel in the live-action rendition of The Little Mermaid, always opts for head-turning fits that are full of personality. Some standouts include the custom Off-White gown she wore for the Australia premiere of The Little Mermaid and the slinky Gucci halter dress (complete with ruffled shawl) that she pulled on for this year’s Met Gala.

We, of course, can’t forget this dreamy white number, designed by Miss Sohee, that Bailey wore for The Little Mermaid’s London premiere. Between the embroidered details, the sequined headpiece, and the tulle-accented bust, this may be one of her most memorable looks yet.

Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek’s acting career spans over three decades, and within this timeframe, she has served so many amazing looks that we’ve lost count. Her House of Gucci premiere velvet gown, her sequined dress for the Eternals UK premiere, her drapey beige number to attend the 2009 Golden Globes—there are just so many. Besides being stylish, she also isn’t afraid to think outside of the box—for example, it’s been years, and we’re still thinking about that black strapless dress that she famously accessorized with temporary butterfly tattoos.

One of her more recent head-turning looks was for the Killers Of The Flower Moon red carpet during the Cannes Film Festival. Here, Hayek wore a sculptural Alexander McQueen gown styled with Gucci diamond jewelry. Perfection.

Margot Robbie

Even before the Barbie movie excitement (more on that in a second), Margot Robbie made a splash when walking on red carpets. Between inky black off-the-shoulder dresses worn to awards shows to lacy two-pieces styled for premieres, the Australian actress always keeps us on our toes.

Now, for her recent Barbie premiere looks—one word, wow. A custom Vivienne Westwood gown (pictured here), a sequined Schiaparelli number, a vintage Moschino skirt suit, and an Emilio Pucci mini-dress—the talented actress keeps the looks coming.

Euphoria actress Zendaya has mastered the art of red carpet-dressing. Whether outfitted in a long, floor-length gown or styled in a design-forward two-piece, the famous actress always looks like a million bucks.

Her Maison Valentino slip dress for the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere and her Alexander Mcqueen blazer dress for the movie’s London premiere are ones worth a mention, but, TBH, we can’t stop thinking about this Louis Vuitton halter top vest and trousers that she donned for a CinemaCon 2023 event.

6

Scarlett Johansson

If you’re stumped on what to wear to an upcoming special occasion and need some ideas, take a peek at Scarlett Johansson’s red carpet looks—it’s a treasure trove of style inspiration. From extravagant Vera Wang gowns worn to awards shows to Vivienne Westwood mini-dresses paired with Christian Louboutin heels for premieres, Johansson always hits the nail on the head when it comes to dressing for the red carpet.

The New York native is constantly churning out head-turning ensembles, like this one she recently sported at the Asteroid City red carpet premiere at the 76th annual Cannes Film Festival. Here, she embraced the peek-a-boo trend by choosing a light pink Prada gown and a dainty white bralette.

Zoe Kravitz on the red carpet, need we say more? The award-winning actress is the epitome of style. From striking silhouettes to unexpected details, you know that when Kravitz walks the red carpet, it’s going to be good.

The actress has plenty of iconic red carpet moments, but one that especially stands out is the head-turning black dress she wore to the Batman premiere last year. The velvet dress, which was custom designed by Oscar de la Renta, boasted a built-in corset complete with cat ear silhouettes on the bust. Chic and creative—what more could you want in an outfit?

8

Florence Pugh

Whether rocking shorts to the Oscars or looking luxe in a satiny Rodarte number paired with a giant tulle shawl, Florence Pugh always dials up the drama when she steps foot on the red carpet, and we love it.

One recent look that stands out is the fiery burnt orange gown she wore to the UK premiere of Oppenheimer. The look, which Valentino Couture designed, boasted a long flowing train and a backless top.
