Because I follow the quiet luxury bible, my closet is filled with chic basics and staples like neutral tees, jeans, and tailored trousers. And while I do love the style, I’ve been trying to find ways to zhuzh up these minimalist pieces a bit without straying too far from that refined, understated aesthetic.

That’s where lace trim detail comes in. I’ve noticed this one fashion touch taking over, and it’s the perfect way to elevate even the most pared-back outfits. A hint of lace peeking out from a hem or neckline adds softness and texture, making laid-back looks feel intentional rather than plain.

Across street style in major fashion capitals and all over social media, lace-trim pieces are everywhere this summer. Lace-trim shorts are replacing denim ones, lace-trim asymmetrical tops have become a go-to for fashion people who want something chic but not boring, and lace-trim skirts are quickly becoming a staple.

After seeing the trend everywhere, I wanted to incorporate it into my own wardrobe. So when I spotted this $20 lace-trim tank from Old Navy, I immediately knew I’d be wearing it nonstop. The lace neckline breaks up an otherwise regular tank, and it works just as well on its own as it does layered under a button-down or cardigan. It’s easy, comfortable, and makes an everyday outfit stand out a bit more.
