Believe it or not, the popular lululemon Align leggings debuted 10 years ago. It's not hard to see why they've become one of the brand's most beloved products over the years—they're incredibly buttery, stretchy, and comfortable with just enough compression for any workout. They’re pretty much perfect. Well, except for the dreaded front seam. It isn't as noticeable on darker fabrics, but with lighter colors, the seam can lead to some of us (me) venturing dangerously close to camel toe territory. And the leggings just don't look as sleek and smooth with a big ol' line down the middle, either.
It's no secret that lululemon fans have been asking for a seamless version for years. A quick Google search will reveal a plethora of Reddit threads asking if there's anything out there that's exactly like the Aligns, minus the front rise seam. And the answer was no... until now.
Our prayers have been answered, because today lululemon released the Align No Line™ Pant, a new and improved version of their signature Aligns with a minimal, line-free front. "To achieve No Line, we slightly adjusted the gusset position to ensure your tights stay put, as it would with a front seam," the brand wrote in a press release. You might've noticed that the No Line style is $108, which is $10 more than the regular Aligns. That's because the sewing technique required to create a totally seamless front is a little more complicated (and, if I had to guess, a little more expensive to manufacture). But if the slight price increase is giving you pause, know that the handful of lucky fans who received the long-awaited style via mail to try out in advance absolutely loved it.
"I have tried them on and they’re wonderful," wrote one customer who received a tester pair. "They are comfortable and well-fitting. There are two seams running up the leg instead of one to replace the midline seam at the crotch. I must say it does feel quite nice not having that line running up [the center]. I did a CrossFit workout tonight in them and they held up really well."
Available in size 0 to 12 in six colors as well as two inseam options, these leggings are sure to become your new go-to. "Once I buy a pair of these I know I’m not gonna want any of my old pairs," wrote one Reddit user. Same, honestly.
