ICYMI: Lainey Wilson isn’t done racking up milestones in 2024 just yet. Earlier this year, the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer won Best Country Album at the Grammys, as well as Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music, and today she’s releasing her highly anticipated fifth studio album, Whirlwind. Add to that, Lainey is now dropping a jewelry collab with the iconic Kendra Scott—talk about a whirlwind success! (Sorry, had to.)
Made in partnership with the Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott brand, this celestial collection features must-have pieces, including statement earrings, necklaces, and simple studs meant for everyday wear—all inspired by the lyrics on Lainey’s Whirlwind album. Kendra Scott puts it best: “[Lainey’s] fearless, trailblazing spirit truly embodies the essence of our Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott brand. This line is designed for women who dare to dream big and are ready to make their mark on the world.”
The collection is now available at KendraScott.com. Get your hands on some of these jewels today!
But until then, here’s a little Q&A with the one and only Lainey Wilson.
Walk us back, how did the collaboration with Kendra Scott come about?
The collaboration with Kendra Scott came about pretty naturally. We first met on the red carpet at the American Country Music Awards in 2023, and I was already wearing some of her Yellow Rose pieces that night and quickly became a brand fan, weaving the pieces into my everyday style. We hit it off right away and kept in touch after that. Our styles and creative vibes just clicked, so when the idea of collaborating on a jewelry collection came up, it felt like the perfect fit. It was an exciting new way for me to express my creativity, and it all just came together seamlessly.
While I was deep into writing and recording my new album Whirlwind, I also got the chance to collaborate on the collection. It was a whole new way to get creative and bring the same energy and message from my music into this collection. I’ve always believed that no matter who you are or where you come from if you’re bold enough to dream big, anything is possible. That’s what I wanted to capture, both in the album and in this collection.
How did your new album inspire the pieces in this collection?
I named the album Whirlwind because that’s exactly how the past few years have felt—everything moving fast, so much going on all at once. But staying true to who I am outside of all that is what keeps me grounded and authentic. This collection is an extension of that. When I look back at all the hard work that got me here, I want my fans to know that anything is possible—you can dream up anything and make it real. That’s why it was important to me to incorporate celestial designs into this collection, to capture that sense of possibility and wonder.
Here’s a challenging question: What’s your favorite piece from this collection?
What I love about this collection is that there’s something for everyone! We’ve got this great stud earring that’s simple but still makes a statement—perfect for any occasion. Personally, I’m all about a layered style. The multi-strand necklace is a favorite of mine, with the crescent moon, which really brings the celestial vibe to life. It’s all about reaching for the stars, but honestly, every piece in this collection is special and captures that spirit of dreaming big.
What about in your personal collection? Do you have a favorite piece?
I got myself a ring with a horseshoe and a horse in the middle from an antique shop around the time “Wildflowers & Wild Horses” went number one. It was a gift to myself and reminds me of the first song I wrote when I was 9, “Lucky Me.”
As a fellow jewelry lover, is there a gemstone you feel especially connected to? If your new album were a gemstone, which one would it be?
I’d have to go with drusy gemstones, which we included in this collection. When we were on location for the campaign shoot, Kendra was telling me all about how drusy stones are formed. They come from these geode rocks that might seem plain and ordinary on the outside, but when you crack them open, you find these beautiful, crystalized treasures inside. That really resonated with me because it’s a lot like making music. You pour so much heart and hard work into creating it, and when you finally share it with the world, it’s like revealing something special that’s been hidden away.
